What we do (and don't do)

VideoStance collects claims made by video creators (primarily on YouTube) about AI tools, models, and services. We extract those claims, attribute each one to the specific creator and the timestamp in their video, and then group them into three categories:

• Where reviewers agree — multiple creators independently say the same thing.
• Where they split — creators reach different conclusions on the same point.
• Unique insights — a point made by only one creator.

Important:We verify what creators said and whether their claims are internally consistent. We do not independently re-run benchmarks, test products ourselves, or confirm that every factual claim a creator makes is true. “Verified” on VideoStance means a claim has been sourced to a specific, named creator at a specific timestamp — not that we have proven the claim to be factually correct.

When a claim involves specific numbers (pricing, benchmark scores, model versions), we try to link a primary source (the vendor's official page, a benchmark leaderboard, a model card) alongside the creator attribution. Where a primary source is missing or may be out of date, we flag it.

Editorial independence

Creator claims are selected based on relevance and recency, not on whether they are favorable to any vendor. We do not let advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate partners influence which claims we include, how we categorize them, or which conclusions we draw. No vendor has editorial input on any topic page.

How this site is funded (we make no money right now)

VideoStance is a personal, independent project. As of the date above, this site generates no revenue and we have no affiliate relationships, sponsorships, paid placements, or advertising of any kind.

This site is run at the creator's own expense. If we ever introduce affiliate links, sponsorships, or any other form of monetization, we will disclose it here, bump the “Last updated” date, and add an entry to the changelog below.

Affiliate relationships by vendor

We have no affiliate relationships with any vendor or product discussed on this site. This includes OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Surfer SEO, Semrush, Ahrefs, and all others mentioned across our topic pages.

No vendor pays us for inclusion, ranking, or recommendation. If a vendor is ever added as an affiliate partner in the future, we will list them here before any affiliate link goes live.

How recommendations are formed

Our “Choose by scenario” and “Verdict” sections are derived from synthesizing creator claims, weighted by how many independent reviewers reached the same conclusion. A scenario recommendation reflects what the majority of reviewed creators conclude for that use case — not our own hands-on testing.

Where reviewers are divided, we say so explicitly rather than picking a winner. Since we earn no money from any product, commission can never influence a recommendation.

Data freshness and accuracy

AI tools change pricing, model versions, and capabilities frequently. Each topic page shows a “Last updated” date. Pricing and benchmark data on that page were accurate as of that date but may have changed since. We aim to review pricing-sensitive pages at least every 30 days.

If you notice a price, version, or spec that is out of date, please tell us so we can correct it (see “Reporting errors” below).

Creator attributions and sources

Every claim in our cross-analysis sections is attributed to a named creator with a timestamp that links to the specific moment in their video. We do not accept payment from creators to be featured or quoted. Creators are not notified before publication that they will be cited, and they have no editorial control over how their claims are framed.

If a creator feels a claim has been taken out of context, they can contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, correct or remove the attribution.

Limitations you should keep in mind

• Creator consensus is not the same as fact. When several YouTubers say the same thing, that means the claim is widespread — not necessarily that it is true.
• Sample sizes vary.Some conclusions draw on 5–6 creators; some draw on fewer. Where a conclusion rests on a single creator, it is labeled as a “Unique insight” rather than consensus.
• We don't test products ourselves. For hands-on performance questions, treat VideoStance as a map of what reviewers are saying, not as a substitute for your own evaluation.

We review every report and correct verified errors, with a note describing what changed and when.

Changes to this disclosure

If we change how we make money, add new affiliate relationships, or begin accepting sponsorships, we will update this page and bump the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted in a changelog below.
